Northern California/Southern Oregon Coasts

March 7: Beautiful drive up the coast yesterday and today. The wine country of Mendocino County, Coastal Highway US-1 with its switchbacks and hairpin turns, way more redwood groves than I thought existed, dramatic ups and downs and the craggy Pacific coastline (in both states). Just a marvelous, awe inspiring route. The photos just don't do them justice--and yes, that's my car coming through the tourist trap drive-through redwood--it cost 2 bucks.

  2. Hi Jare,
We finally put up the round pen on the ten today for the horses. Finished the day with a steak and salmon extravaganza, Ma, Pa, Wade and Karen, the cats in attendance. Miss you and want to wish you happy and safe travels. We loved the pictures. We love you.

  3. Whoa! ICE OUT on Long Lake! Thursday/Friday Ice Fishers' last hurrah. Saturday, late shanty-retriever fell thru; buddy rescued. Sunday, after 2 days deluge accompanied by 25 - 40 mph sustained winds last evening...ice was OUT! Flood warning in large region. Our homestead OK. YOU keep dry & safe! F*S*B ~
